Pouring is the Best Part
For many, a video similar to this is what hooked them on epoxy projects. Pouring is so satisfying. Between each layer of epoxy, we allow the epoxy to cure fully, sand it with 220 grit, clean with air, clean with isopropyl alcohol, and then prepare the epoxy for the next pour. Repeat throughout the table build.
One of the biggest fans of epoxy is my 9 year old! He loves helping anyway he can. Epoxy projects are fantastic for families to do together!
We poured a layer of epoxy, waited until it was nice and tacky, and then placed all of the planks in where they would go. This way, the blanks would be held in place for the rest of the pour because the base layer cured with planks in place
We only filled the table with color 3/4 of the way up the planks so we could fill the remaining 1/4 with clear to really give the black a captivating depth
Out of the form, sanded, but not polished with the final coat of epoxy. Notice the high gloss finish is not there yet
