These clients were awesome, and this project was FUN!
Not everyday do I get to build the counters, work hand in hand with the clients, share my love of epoxy with them and their friends and family (who are now all hooked on epoxy!), but I got to add some color and flare to the counters to really make them pop! One of the best things about epoxy countertops is the potential for customization to your space! Can’t find the right stone, shade, or design that isn’t just like everyone else’s? Epoxy it, and have a one of a kind kitchen!
Since this was a new build, I needed very specific measurements.
Client opted for 1.5inch thick counters. We use 3/4 doubled up, glued, and set for 24 hours before cutting to size.
Glue should be adequately applied where we get a proper seal on all edges.
Every time we have a new design, we make a sample board for the client's approval

Once cut to size, double check each piece fits in place!
We add a primer color to our builds for the undercoat. In this case, solid gray.

The first epoxy layer is your color layer
The clients were there every step of the way for the color design so we were able to adjust to their desires in live time
The second coat of epoxy is the clear coat. It adds depth to the design as well as protects the color coat (just like on a car)
The traditional clear coat is food safe to eat off of. It offers a mirror like, full gloss finish

After the clear coat, we have an added top coat that reduces the full gloss to a semi-gloss
This Diamond Top Coat also adds protection from scratches, UV yellowing over time, and is food safe
